Welcome to our site! HFWGA a rescue
group determined to make a difference. We are a small, ethical rescue dedicated to helping homeless animals find furrrever
homes!
HFWGA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in west-central
Georgia. We are a licensed shelter with the state of Georgia. At the present time, we function solely
through volunteers and foster homes meaning none of our pets are in a central location for public viewing during regular
hours. Please see our Adoption Sessions page for more information about where and when to meet an adoptable pet.
HFWGA's Basic Policies:
-
All animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
Yes, even puppies and kittens!
-
All dogs are tested for heartworms and all cats are tested
for feline leukemia prior to adoption.
-
All animals in our program are healthy, happy, and
well socialized.
-
Any adoptee will always be accepted back at
any time if the adoption does not work out.
-
Cats/kittens are adopted to indoor only homes with
rare exceptions.
-
Declawing cats is not acceptable.
-
Dogs/puppies are preferably adopted to homes with fenced
yards.
HFWGA's Beliefs:
-
Everyone has the potential to be an excellent pet owner if
they are willing to listen, learn, committ, and most importantly open their hearts and homes.
-
Saving just one won't change the world, but it sure will
change the world for that one.
-
"All life has value, from conception to natural death."
~Tom Coburn
